The appeal of Megève never wanes; it has managed to maintain a balance between its history, present, and future while retaining charm and tradition. And there are many reasons for this: slopes suitable for all levels, a lively après-ski scene, exceptional dining, great wellness and shopping spots... something to satisfy everyone's desires.
New projects are taking shape
Megève benefits from recent infrastructure and is expanding its range of activities, both winter and summer, all set against an extraordinary panorama. Several projects currently underway will transform the town.
Various establishments (restaurants, shops, nightclubs, etc.) have already opened. The former casino building is set to house a bowling alley, shops, and fast food under the direction of the Ginestet Group, the new casino operator.
The center of Megève will also be redesigned: the RD1212 will have a zone limited to 30 km/h and will be partially paved. An operation aimed at extending the center of Megève to the doors of the Palais.
On the ski side, the Megève ski lifts are not lagging since 22 million euros of investment are planned to remove the ski tows and replace them with two detachable chairlifts in different sectors of Rochebrune by 2021.
Megève attracts buyers
Traditionally one of the most sought-after and prestigious resorts in France, Megève remains by far the most dynamic in terms of investments compared to its counterparts Chamonix, Méribel, or Courchevel. The real estate market has followed this trend, allowing the introduction of several new high-quality programs in the area.
Buyers now have more choice in terms of the offerings, a turnaround for a market once composed almost exclusively of chalets. The village center welcomes beautiful apartments with practical placement, close to amenities and shops, as does the Rochebrune area. If you wish to enjoy a sunset on the quietest side of the massif, we advise looking for a property located in the Hamlet of la Princesse.
Located an hour from Geneva airport, the town is particularly appealing for its authenticity. The quality of shops, services, and activities offered make Megève a high-end destination attracting a French and international clientele.
